Providing a place for pension/SWF and insurance executives, board members and business leaders to shape the future of the world economy
A firm believer in the notion of economic long-termism, Lee Kuan Yew pioneered the concepts of technology-driven development, co-investment and social participation
These ideas are now moving center-stage as institutional asset owners and entrepreneurs adopt more modern, SDG-informed investment management tools and risk mitigation means in "The Age of Fiduciary Capitalism"
The Forum is organised by the EU ASEAN Council, a London-based Anglo-Singaporean think-tank, in association with global, regional & national asset owners' associations, think-tanks and policy research centres.
The event is co-chaired by the Rt. Hon. Nick Sherry, the first Australian Minister for Superannuation & Corporate Law, one of the fathers of the "Australian Pension Miracle", and M. Nicolas J. Firzli, Director-General of the World Pensions Forum (WPF) and Cofounding Member & Advisory Councillor of the World Bank Group Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF).
The Singapore Economic Forum was also borne out of the realization that Northern Hemisphere governments acting alone won't be able to garner sufficient material resources to "Shift the Trillions" in favour of sustainable development and social equity: institutional asset owners and employee-nominated pension board members (trustees) have an essential role to play in "Building A Better Future For Our Children and Their Children"
Driven by rapid economic growth, demographic dynamism and academic & research excellence, the Greater Asia-Pacific area has become the center of gravity of the world economy: from Jeddah to Jakarta, long-term asset owners such as pension funds and sovereign wealth institutions are "shifting the trillions" towards the region's asset classes — including, of course, listed equity, venture capital and infrastructure — &, by doing so, redefining the terms of economic development and "globalization"
Meet the men and women who are shaping that financial and economic revolution
